Beginning Febrary 9th, I will be teaching in Kripalu's first Yoga Teacher Training to be held in New York City. The program will be hosted by the YoGanesh Yoga Studio on 7th Ave @ 23rd St. Even if you never want to teach yoga, it is a tremendous opportunity to deepen your practice.
I am so excited to be teaching again for Kula for Karma! Please keep in touch re: details. There are many opportunites developing for teachers working with Title I schools, veterans suffering from PTSD, survivors of human slave trafficking -- a chance to share your gift of yoga with those most in need.
"Loved your class today at Namaste. What a wonderful, delicious way to spend a Sunday afternoon." - Kay, yoga student
"(Gretchen has) been such an example of the essence of yoga.
A compassionate witness -- a dancer of transformation --
what a journey to find your peace. I love (her)." - Tullia, Yoga Teacher Trainee
Gretchen Sherman is a certified Kripalu Yoga teacher and LifeForce Yoga® for Depression and Anxiety Practitioner.
She teaches at the Namaste Yoga Center in Manhattan's Upper West Side, and teaches private sessions for LifeForce yoga, or to anyone who feels more comfortable one-on-one.
Through and including June 19th @ 6:30, she will be teaching at The Renaissance Charter School in Jackson Heights. Please contact me for details.
Gretchen frequently teaches as a Faculty Assistant at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, MA, and in Kripalu's Yoga Teacher Trainings.
Her classes emphasize stress relief through meditative coordination of movement with breath. She is particularly concerned with providing a safe, noncompetitive environment for those who feel, for whatever reason, that they cannot practice yoga, i.e. inflexible, old, overweight, uncoordinated, self conscious, etc. Her classes move at a mindful pace, and offer many variations to allow each student to determine the appropriate degree of challenge she or he seeks.
